About This Report
Citizens of Newton County, Georgia:
On behalf of the Newton County Board of Commissioners, we are pleased to
present to you the Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) for the fiscal year
ended June 30, 2021. The purpose of this report is to provide a user-friendly
overview of how the County is utilizing your tax dollars and the financial position
of the county. We have also included the County history, organizational struc-
ture, services offered, and highlights over the last year to help better explain
your tax dollars at work. Not all funds are included in this report, as this report is
meant to highlight the most significant points of interest.
The financial information in this report summarizes information found in the
County’s 2021 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR). The ACFR is
prepared according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and is
audited by Mauldin & Jenkins, CPA. The ACFR can be found on our website at
http://www.co.newton.ga.us/254/Financial-Documents.
Improving transparency is important to us, so we hope to communicate im-
portant financial information in a manner that will help you understand how your
tax dollars support your community. We welcome any feedback for improving
this report in the future.
